Meet Inspiring Change Makers

Jul 25, 2024

Hello Dear Reader,

I’m excited to invite you to an online event on August 1, 2,024 at 5 pm CEST / 11 am EST.  I truly hope you can join us because…

I want you to meet four high-conscious humans with deep feelings who will touch your heart and potentially impact your life significantly.

Phillips Tayebwa, Murindangabo Rugaragara, Nehemia Bigiramwami, and Andrew Rwumbuguza are the leading substance abuse counselors at the 3P Nakivale Alcohol Dept.

Located in southwestern Uganda and home to 130,000 people, Nakivale Refugee Settlement is one of Africa’s oldest and largest refugee camps.

It covers a vast area and hosts refugees from places like the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and South Sudan.

Refugees come from areas affected by civil wars, ethnic conflicts, and human rights abuses, seeking safety in Nakivale to escape violence and persecution.

In the camp, alcoholism is a big problem – often linked to the trauma and stress of being displaced and the harsh everyday life in the settlement.

Many individuals turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism to deal with emotional pain, loss, and uncertainty about the future.

That’s where the 3P Nakivale Alcohol Dept. comes in…

These dedicated humans, who used to be heavily addicted to alcohol themselves before becoming professional alcohol counselors, tirelessly travel from village to village, sharing the 3 Principles with anyone willing to listen.

Sometimes, people gather in the hundreds in the sweltering heat to learn their uplifting message, “HAPPINESS IS FREE!”

Their work brings love, understanding, and hope to their community, and the results are remarkable. That’s because they genuinely have the wisdom to help people heal from alcoholism (...and we can learn from them!).

Every day, they watch their brothers and sisters find inner peace, put down the bottle, and become more caring and productive husbands, wives, friends, and neighbors.

With less alcohol-related chaos, families can achieve a more secure and stable living environment.

This, in turn, profoundly and positively affects the children and the whole community.

The 3P Nakivale Alcohol Counselors work with people who cannot pay them, and they do this work with minimal funding. Your presence LIVE on the call will mean the world to them and support their efforts.

I promise you that you will get more out of it than they will!!

Asante sana, and see you soon,

Shailia,

... along with Harry Derbitsky (President of ACT Training Inc. http://www.acttraining.biz), Sandra Heim, Silvia Chytil, Lea Wernli, and the leaders of the 3P Nakivale Alcohol Department
